Established in 1986, the Australia India Business Council (AIBC) was founded to foster bi-lateral relations between the two countries. We are the only premier non-profit organisation, with a mission to promote trade dialogue between India and Australia through nurturing and maintaining close relationships in both Australia and India, with Federal and State government agencies, the diplomatic corporations and industry bodies.
AIBC plays a pivotal role in showcasing opportunities to business communities of and for Australian Corporations through an active calendar of events, delegate meets, facilitation of knowledge and resources to ascertain emerging opportunities in India.
We have a growing membership and active chapters in NSW, ACT, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia

AKBC exists on behalf of its members and seeks to foster friendship and understanding between the business communities of Australia and Korea. The AKBC also seeks to promote technical and economic cooperation, trade investment, education and tourism between the two countries. A lot has been said and written in this publication about how mature trade and political relationships between the two countries already are, and it is the aim of AKBC to further improve the business environment to take this relationship even further.
The Australia-Taiwan Business Council Limited (ATBC) was set up in 1983 by Sir Charles Court, a former Premier of Western Australia, who worked with business people with interests in Taiwan. Over the years, ATBC played a strong role in promoting business between Australia and Taiwan.
With more than a quarter century of success in fostering Australia-Taiwan business, the ATBC has a deep understanding of Taiwan’s economy, business culture and laws, regulations and practices. The ATBC also understands the subtleties and complexities of Taiwan’s relationship with its neighbour to the west and of the Australian government’s ‘one China policy’.
The ATBC is not just another bi-lateral business association. In the absence of diplomatic relations between Australia and Taiwan, the ATBC is a bridge and a channel of communication between the two countries.
Besides working to improve the infrastructure for Australia-Taiwan commerce, the policies and programs of the ATBC are designed first and foremost to serve the interests of its members. ATBC can do this effectively because of the outstanding access and influence its office holders enjoy in Taiwan and because its Taiwan counterpart, the Republic of China-Australia Business Council (ROCABC), deploys substantial resources for goals which the two Councils share.
The ATBC sees itself as part of a team, including Australian governments and Australian officials in Taiwan and Australia.
The Queensland Japan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (QJCCI) was established in 1987 to promote and strengthen business and investment ties between Queensland and Japan. The QJCCI provides a forum for Queensland companies involved in business with Japan and Japanese companies operating in Australia to network and share experiences with people who have similar interests.
Activities keep members abreast of changes in the economic and commercial environment in Japan and provide referral and advisory services for new exporters. Activities and services include:
- Seminars and workshops by visiting specialists, in association with the Consulate-General of Japan, Austrade, JETRO and Department of Employment, Economic Development & Innovation (DEEDI)
- Meetings with visiting Japanese business and government missions
- Ministerial briefings on the Japanese economy and opportunities for Queensland exporters
- Virtual Trade Mission video-conference linkages in cooperation with Queensland and Austrade offices in Japan
- Advisory services for new exporters to Japan
- Annual QJCCI Export Awards for outstanding achievements in export to Japan
The QJCCI works closely with government and other bilateral organisations involved in Queensland's relationship with Japan including Trade & Investment Queensland, Austrade, JETRO, Consulate-General of Japan and the Japan Club of Brisbane.
