David Lescinsky has a M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Earth Sciences and has more than 20 years of experience working as a geologist. During his career, David has moved across sectors, working in academia as assistant professor of environmental science at University of Western Ontario, Canada, in industry as a project geologist / hydrologist for Geolex, Inc. in Albuquerque, NM, and now in government at Geoscience Australia. He has recently transitioned from geological modelling for geothermal exploration, basin analysis and CO2 sequestration assessment projects to a role supporting GA’s agency-wide efforts in high performance computing.
David is currently the team lead of GA’s High Performance Data / High Performance Computing Science Team and is responsible for facilitating and managing GA’s eResearch projects, including: GA’s science projects at the National Computational Infrastructure (NCI), GA’s national data collections at the Research Data Storage Infrastructure (RDSI), and GA’s Virtual Laboratories Programme.

Andrew Moore has over 30 years’ experience in exploration systems and information services with international oil and gas companies. Between management positions with Occidental (later Elf Enterprise) and Petro-Canada in the UK, he was an independent consultant for 15 years running projects and providing training for major clients such as BP, Chevron and Amerada Hess.
Andrew joined Santos in Adelaide in 2009 as the Information Systems Manager for Subsurface with accountability for all geoscience systems, data management and GIS. In this role he implemented thin client technology to deliver geoscience applications to Santos’ offices in Brisbane, Perth and Singapore from a centralised data hub in Adelaide, a project which won Global Innovator of the Year 2011 with RedHat.
In 2013 he moved to Brisbane where he was also responsible for IS Operations in Queensland. He has recently been given the portfolio for Knowledge, Information and Data across Santos. A particular focus of the new role is master data management, data integration, visualisation and predictive analytics.

Dr Lesley Wyborn

Lesley Wyborn has recently moved to the National Computational Infrastructure (NCI) Facility at the Australian National University (ANU) after a career of 42 years in Geoscience Australia (GA). She has a strong background in developing relational database management systems and related analytics. Her focus in the last 25 years has been on developing real time interoperability between distributed data repositories. From 2010 she led the uptake of High Performance Computing (HPC) and High Performance Data (HPD) technologies in GA using what is currently the world’s 38th largest Supercomputer at the NCI Facility at ANU. Use cases that were transitioned for GA to HPC included satellite, potential field geophysics, and hazards modelling. She is a deputy chair of the Australian Academy of Science ‘Data for Science Committee' and internationally she is on the Executive Committee of the American Geophysical Union Earth and Space Science Informatics Group and is associated with the National Science Foundation Geoinformatics for Geochemistry and EarthCube Projects. In June 2014 she was award an Australian Government Public Service Medal for her sustained national and international leadership in integrated geoscience data management and analytics.

C. Lwanga Yonke is a seasoned information quality and data governance leader with more than 25 years of oil industry experience. He has successfully designed and implemented projects in multiple areas, including information quality, data governance, data management, business intelligence, data warehousing, data architecture and document management. His initial experience is in petroleum engineering and operations.
He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and a senior member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ). Lwanga is a founding member of the International Association for Information and Data Quality (IAIDQ) and currently serves as an Advisor to the IAIDQ Board of Directors. Lwanga is the recipient of the 2008 SPE Western North America Regional Management and Information Award and the 2011 IAIDQ Distinguished Service Award. An ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Lwanga holds a BS degree in petroleum engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and earned an MBA from California State University, Bakersfield.
