11:30     Developing the SunFun app – hear from the students from Pacific Pines Tech Girls who created this award winning app

SunFun is designed to help kids understand the importance of sun safety in a fun way. By blending gamification techniques with educational facts, SunFun offers an entertaining user experience where knowledge of sun safety is acquired almost by stealth. In this session, you will be inspired by the incredible 12 year old students who developed the app.

After a short 15 min organised bus ride, you will have the chance to visit the new Gold Coast Hub, inaugurated on the 12th October.

  • Presentation – Investing in women in tech: How universities together with industry can make the change

GC Hub will be hosting leading female founded tech start-ups, pitching to a panel of esteemed investors.
The event is for Women in Tech. Fest attendees only and is an opportunity to hear from and support innovative start-ups, as well as network with your peers.
 
 - Each one of the 5 pre-selected start-ups will have 5 minutes to pitch and answer questions around their start-ups and ideas on the day.
 - After the pitch, the start-ups and delegates will have the opportunity to continue the conversation with the jury of investors during networking drinks.
